Slightly uncomfortable news/entertainment synergy of the day

My precocious cousin FishbowlDC notes that, as reported in the Washington Post, staffers at The Hotline, a (subscription only) political email tip sheet put out by the National Journal, will serve as consultants on ‘Red/Blue’, an upcoming reality show produced by Endemol which hopes to do for political consultants what ‘American Idol’ has done for singers and ‘The Bachelor’ has done for airheaded blonde mid-level marketing executives.

Says Hotline editor in chief Chuck Todd: “We’re going to make sure it’s grounded in political reality and that it doesn’t make a fool of itself in the political community and Washington.”
