Slate Launches Monthly Book Review

Book review sections in papers and magazines might be dwindling, but Slate is doing its part to keep them alive. It is launching Slate Book Review, which will publish the first Saturday of every month and feature author interviews, reviews of fiction, nonfiction and — as is the case for its debut — the occasional children’s book.

Dan Kois, who will be overseeing the section, wants Slate to give books sections their due. For one weekend a month, at least.
