Sex Pistols Retain Ability To Offend Canadians

Great Moments in Advertising #500: Bell Canada launched an ad campaign last week featuring a girl in punk rock gear who was wearing a Sex Pistols pin with the song title “Belsen Was a Gas” written on it. Only the ads for discount brand Solo Mobile were unveiled during the Jewish New Year. Whoops.

The ad campaign appeared on public transit throughout Toronto and Vancouver.

Now… here’s the puzzling part. The advertising firm behind the ad Photoshopped out the Sex Pistols logo, presumably to avoid legal entanglements.
