Writer Phil Patton is The New York Timesgo-to journalist for automotive design and has written books on the Volkswagen Bug and the work of Michael Graves. And although we haven’t driven a car since the Clinton administration, we would brush up on our parallel parking for a chance to get behind the wheel of a Stout Scarab, the eccentric ancestral minivan (pictured below) that Patton wrote about recently and aptly described as “shaped like a loaf of home-baked bread.”
