Elizabeth Shaw has been named editor-in-chief of Scholastic Parent & Child. Shaw came to Scholastic last year. She had previously served as executive editor of Parenting magazine. During her three years there she also oversaw editorial operations for Parenting Early Years and Parenting School Years.
“Elizabeth Shaw brings her expertise and unique voice to Scholastic Parent & Child, both as an editor and a parent,” said Jamie Engel, Scholastic Parent & Child’s VP and publisher, in a statement. “The magazine is off to a promising start under her editorial guidance, and we are excited to see our magazine be the go-to resource to help parents raise happy and confident children.”
Shaw’s first issue is the August/September, which saw a 37 percent jump in ad pages compared to last year.
