RD Recap: Vice Follows Cuts With Hires; Yahoo Adds Beauty Director

Josh Tyrangiel continues remaking Vice in his own image. The “enfant terrible of media” (what?), according to Shane Smith, recruits Nellie Bowles, Ben Craw, Roberto Ferdman, Melissa Maerz, Jon Strauss and Craig Thomson from outlets that include The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly and the Huffington Post. They’ll work primarily on the new television show but also contribute elsewhere. Additionally, senior producer Alex Chitty and associate producer Jana Kozlowski are heading to the company’s Los Angeles bureau.
