Here’s a surprise: Thomas Staggs walks away from Disney. He had been chief operating officer for the past 14 months and was widely considered the successor to CEO Bob Iger, although he’s reportedly leaving because he couldn’t get confirmation that he’d eventually move into the top spot. “Tom has been a great friend and trusted colleague for more than 20 years,” Iger said in a statement. “He’s made important contributions to this company, earning wide respect across the organization for his achievements and personal integrity.
