RD Recap: Layoffs at Rodale; a Promotion at the NYT

In what’s becoming something of a holiday tradition, layoffs are here, this time at Rodale. Company chairwoman Maria Rodale, who recently decided that she wanted to be more involved, cut 10 staffers, including senior vice president Anne Alexander, group publisher Chris Lambiase, business operations and strategy svp Brian O’Connell, and vice president of operations Alex Klapwald. That’s four in the executive ranks for those counting at home. A few people did get promotions, with Lori Burgess, Laura Frerer-Schmidt, Ronan Gardiner, Zack Grice and Jeff Tkach jumping up to the managing director level.
