RD Recap: Kevin Merida Heads to ESPN; Scott Schulman Out at Rodale

Kevin Merida will head up The Undefeated, ESPN’s “Black Grantland,” which was originally a Jason Whitlock vehicle. Merida leaves The Washington Post, where he had been managing editor. “He sees journalistic possibilities when the rest of us are blind to them,” WaPo executive editor Martin Baron wrote in a memo announcing the departure. “He is a wise and trusted counselor to legions of Post journalists – and journalists throughout the country. He played a central role in helping The Post build a talented, diverse staff.
