Time makes a host of changes. Kelly Conniff jumps to director of features, while Sam Lansky takes over as Hollywood editor and Chris Wilson steps in as director of data journalism. Sarah Begley, Nolan Feeney and Justin Worland are writers, with Arpita Aneja and Julia Lull scoring promotions to associate producer. The magazine also poaches new coordinating producer for video Justine Simons from The New York Times, as well as WomensHealthMag.com’s Robin Hilmantel. Finally, Family Circle’s Jessie Van Amburg steps in as associate editor of Motto, and Melissa Chan and Katie Reilly both come on board in news reporter capacities…

Get ready for Watching, a television-focused website from The New York Times, with television editor Gilbert Cruz overseeing the venture. Former Vulture staffer Margaret Lyons will be a writer for the project’s newsletter… The Wall Street Journal decides it needs someone focused specifically on the Google beat, and global tech editor Jason Dean decides that Jack Nicas is the man for the job. He had been a tech reporter based out of San Francisco, and previously worked at the St. Petersburg Times and The Boston Globe… The New York Daily News loses gossip writer Rachel Maresca, who is reportedly off to Entertainment Tonight. More cuts might be coming to the tabloid… The Washington Post loses director of product Julia Beizer to The Huffington Post, where she’ll be head of product… The Los Angeles Times adds Brenda Rodriguez, Marc Bernardin and Sarah Rodman to the entertainment section…
