It's now 2008 and that means 1st quarter mag industry changes are moving according to schedule. Bauer has just announced that Bauer Women's Group publisher Greg Slattery (Woman's World, First for Women, Soaps in Depth) and In Touch Weekly publisher Mark Oltarsh have been named as VPs. Ryan McConville, who has been at Bauer Teen Group since 2004, has been named as the division's publisher. Press release after the jump. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bauer Publishing announces executive promotions New York, NY (January 10, 2008) â€“ Bauer Advertising Sales, Inc. announced today that Greg Slattery, publisher of the Bauer Women's Group, and Mark Oltarsh, publisher of In Touch Weekly, have been promoted to Vice President effective immediately, and Ryan McConville has been promoted to Publisher of the Bauer Teen Group. "Greg, Mark and Ryan have done exceptional jobs for us," said Ian Scott, President of Bauer Advertising Sales. "These promotions are recognition of their accomplishments as well as anticipation of continued success." Greg Slattery has been publisher of Bauer's Women's Group since 2004, with responsibility for Woman's World, First for Women and Soaps in Depth. Under Gregâ€™s stewardship the Bauer women's titles have increased advertising revenue by +41% over the past three years. "I look forward to being part of the ongoing growth for the Women's Group," said Mr. Slattery. "We continue to gain momentum in the market place. Advertisers have truly connected with our unique formula of limited advertising coupled with a strong presence at newsstand where their products are sold." Mark Oltarsh came to Bauer in 2006 as associate publisher for In Touch Weekly and Life & Style and was subsequently promoted to In Touch Weekly publisher. For 2007, In Touch Weekly showed a +32% increase in ad revenue compared to the previous year. "The marketing community has clearly embraced In Touch, a magazine whose strong connection with young women has propelled it to the 4th largest newsstand seller in America", said Mr. Oltarsh. During Ryan's tenure, the company's three teen celebrity titles (J-14, Twist and M) have increased advertising revenue by +69%.
