LA Times Intern Engineers Plastic Surgeon News Makeover
Kansas City bred LA Times intern Kate Mather (pictured) had an interesting time of it yesterday on the local news desk. After filing a reworking of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon’s self-promoting press release about being on call at an upcoming Prince William and Kate Middleton polo event, she was the first to later post the (response) news that 69-year-old Dr. Toby Mayer was in fact not going to be on the equestrian sidelines.
Mather’s second item has since been picked up by everyone from Associated Press to LAist, which is completely understandable, because who doesn’t love the idea of a plastic surgeon with egg on their face.
