Politico is consolidating its media coverage and eliminating the paywall that surrounded the vertical. Yes, we realize that a media blog (us) covering how a site covers media is extremely meta/headache-inducing.
According to Variety, all of Politico’s media content will now shift to Politico.com/media. Senior reporter Joe Pompeo will also oversee a new media morning newsletter.
Tom McGeveran, editor of Politico Media, told Variety the changes were “good for business in that it will expand our relationship with Politico readers and bring in new ones, all of which brings advertising, sponsorship and event upside.”
