Playboy Not Playing With New York

Playboy is closing down its New York office. The company confirmed today that they’re vacating their lush pad on 5th Avenue and laying off 100 employees here in the city.

Martha Lindeman, spokeswoman for the magazine, confirmed some employees received letters notifying them that their jobs were eliminated. Others were given the chance to transfer to Chicago. The New York office housed primarily publishing and licensing folks.

The company’s goal is to save $5 million annually by closing their New York office.
