Pete Wells Named Chief Restaurant Critic at The New York Times

Pete Wells has been named the new Chief Restaurant Critic at the New York Times. Wells most recently was the Dining Editor, a position he held since 2006. Susan Edgerley, a former Metropolitan Editor, will succeed Wells as the new Dining Editor.

“No one could be better prepared or respected for his superb writing, intimate knowledge of food and restaurants and deep commitment to our dining franchise,” said a memo, of Wells’ changing positions.
