Magazines need money wherever they can get it, so naturally some look to TV. According to the New York Post, the latest major title looking to make that move is People.
The Time Inc. magazine is close to signing a deal for a weekly show with ABC. If the deal goes through, ABC will pay a six-figure licensing fee per episode to Time Inc. The network will also buy ads promoting the show in People and EW.
A People TV show doesn’t mean that you’ll be seeing People editorial director Jess Cagle as a leading man. ABC will likely bring in their own people to produce and star in the show.
