Paul Goldberger Looks at the 100th Anniversary of Burnham's 'Plan of Chicago'

We’ve been on a Paul Goldberger kick over here lately, following our last post on his thoughts about the burning down of Rem Koolhaas’ Mandarin Hotel, and well, here we are again. The New Yorker critic has put together a brief but great piece (published in the forthcoming issue of the magazine we believe) about the hundred year anniversary of Daniel Burnham‘s “Plan of Chicago” which is well worth your time. Not only does he give you a quick rundown of Burnham’s career and the plan itself, he offers a healthy chunk of anecdotes and thoughts about the topic at hand (all the reasons we read Goldberger on a regular basis, right?).
