The legacy of Dallas Morning News journalist Pamela Mary Yip, who passed away over the weekend at age 59.

When the Financial Planning Association of Dallas-Fort Worth holds its annual honors dinner on Thursday, it will also be honoring the late Pamela Mary Yip. In the wake of the Dallas Morning News journalist’s death this past weekend due to brain cancer, the organization will be donating all proceeds from the event to the Pamela Yip Scholarship Fund for CPA Students.

Before joining the News in 1999 and making her mark as a personal finance columnist, Yip worked at the Houston Chronicle, USA Today and UPI.
