The Empire State Building is #1 in your hearts, according to a Harris Interactive poll of the 150 most beloved American buildings released yesterday in honor of the AIA’s 150th anniversary. Golden boy Frank Lloyd Wright appears the most times on the list–eight, no surprise there–but here are a few that fall into the WTF? category:
Dancing fountains pushed Vegas into the top 25:
22 Bellagio Hotel and Casino – Las Vegas, NV
These two buildings are the highest ranking LA-area buildings on the list (even though they’re not really in LA):
65 Crystal Cathedral – Garden Grove, CA
66 Gamble House – Pasadena, CA
LA finally checks in at #75:
75 Union Station – Los Angeles, CA
And, uh, Apple?
53 Apple – 5th Avenue New York, NY
141 Apple – New York (SoHo), NY
