Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Studios have called Chicago home for the past 26 years. That’s about to change. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oprah is shutting down Harpo and shifting all operations to OWN’s headquarters in LA.
This is obviously then end of an era — Oprah is synonymous with the windy city — but much more importantly, it’s the end of a lot of jobs. Crain’s Chicago reports that out of 200 Harpo staffers, only about 20 are going to be offered positions in LA.
