One More Week Per Year

While U.S. News & World Report goes monthly amidst an advertising downturn, the American edition of The Week is expanding from 48 to 49 issues per year.

Back in May, Steven Kotok — the magazines general manager — told us that they had “invested a ridiculous amount of money to break even” and that the magazine derived half of its revenue from subscriptions. Presumably, this allows Felix Dennis’ pub, which recently launched an Australian version, to be more flexible in this difficult advertising climate.
