Ohio Newspaper Publisher Goes Bankrupt
Brown Publishing Company and Brown Media Holdings, which publish 15 dailies and a number of weeklies mainly in Ohio, filed for bankruptcy on April 30.
The companies have selected a bidder to buy their assets and take on a substantial portion of their liabilities. The sale will impact the companies’ assets in Ohio, New York, Texas, South Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Wyoming. The company also publishes Dan’s Newspapers, whose website says it is “the largest weekly community newspaper in the Hamptons.”
