Oh Yeah And There Are Gonna Be About 47 Layoffs At The NYT
The number of staffers who signed up to take the buyout at the New York Times: 53, according to Keith Kelly. That means that executive editor Bill Keller will have to cut another 47 jobs to reach the sought-after 100-person headcount reduction.
Cuts could start as soon as tomorrow.
Gawker has a remarkably complete list of the buyout-takers (if all the names on there are accurate, that’s 41 out of 53 accounted for). We expect to start hearing layoff names soon.
