Occupy Wall Street Overnight Police Raid Slow to Occupy Stations

The battle lines were drawn between Mayor Bloomberg and the protestors making up the Occupy Wall Street movement. At 1:00 a.m. that battle came to a dramatic head as Bloomberg ordered police, in coordination with the owners of Zuccotti Park, to remove anyone in sleeping bags and tents. Those who didn’t leave peacefully were arrested. The park has since been cleaned and reopened, but overnight stays by the protestors are no longer permitted.

Although this major shift in Occupy Wall Street story, which marks two months Thursday, failed to generate the breaking news.
