The New York Times is shuttering NYT Now, the app that provided users with a curated list of Times stories and items from external sources. The app will no longer be available starting Aug. 29.
We were fans of NYT Now when it debuted in 2014. We liked the curated items and the interface. However, we weren’t quite sure that anyone who wasn’t already a Times subscriber would enjoy the app, even if a subscription was only $8 a month.
