Not Condoned: In Response To Layoff Threats, French Workers Hold Manager Hostage

Workers at a 3M factory in Pithiviers, France have been keeping their manager hostage until he agrees to better severance plans for the 110 people threatened with losing their jobs, Reuters reports. He has been stuck in his office overnight—the door is blocked by a wardrobe—but has been speaking with reporters.

He’s apparently handling it quite well: “These people have more to complain about than me and I knew there was this risk when I came here,” the manager Luc Rousselet said.
