Nomad Editions taking Publishing 'Back to the Future'

Nomad Editions, a new digital magazine company headed by former Newsweek executive Mark M. Edmiston, caught our attention last week for the following reason: rather than paying its contributors the usual flat rate per article or per word, the company plans to share with them a percentage of its subscription revenue. We asked editor-in-chief John Benditt to tell us more about the company’s business model, which editions he and his collaborators will be launching first, and how writers can get involved.

Beginning in October, Nomad Editions will launch a series of beat publications that are designed exclusively for the Web.
