Nice Name for a Mountain...
Apparently the name was ‘cleaned up’ in the 1960’s due to civil rights. Now the County Board of Supervisors is looking to change the name to honor John Ballard.
LA is not known for naming things well. We have, after all, named the racial dividing line, the 10 Freeway after Rosa Parks. Yes, the icon for anti-segregation graces the name of the freeway that no white people live south of. Why don’t we just go and name a smart bomb after Gandhi.
