We are so, so proud of Newsweek senior editor Cathleen McGuigan and contributing editor Dorothy Kalins. In an age where consumer magazines tend to use “design” as a buzz word, Newsweek’s put together an intelligent round up of current work that doesn’t read like a design primer.
The Design Dozen covers a few projects plucked from obscurity–some of the pieces are more obvious, and we got a sneak preview of some of Chee Pearlman’s picks at the Art Center conference–but it gives a nice full-picture view of where design is going. Plus, they’ve given it a global perspective that makes us want to stand up and cheer.
(And we’re not just saying all this nice stuff because they also happened to name us as one of “twelve sites that define cool.”)
