Newsweek Editor Marc Peyser Exits Following Merger With The Daily Beast

After 22 years with the title, senior culture editor Marc Peyser is saying goodbye to Newsweek.  Peyser’s exit was not much of a surprise to his colleagues as he was the last senior editor remaining from former editor Jon Meacham’s staff.  Peyser had a close relationship with Meacham who left the magazine when it was sold to Sidney Harman in August.

Peyser is just one of many Newsweek veterans to have departed via layoffs, buyouts, and staff changeups since the merger with The Daily Beast.
