News Corp. Admits Bribing Prison Guard

Just in case you’ve ever wondered: The going rate for bribing a prison guard is about $1,150. That’s the amount News Corp. admitted to paying a prison guard for information about a child killer.

Bloomberg reports that in 2009, Matt Nixson, a Features Editor at the now-shuttered News of The World, told a reporter to pay the guard, but to be careful, because at the time the company had a “forensic new accountant who doesn’t brook any funny business.”
