New York Times Working With Apple?

Ever since the idea of an upcoming Apple tablet device has been circling among tech and media insiders, there has been rumors about The New York Times‘ involvement in the project. In October, editor Bill Keller slipped up, mentioning the paper’s work with Apple in a speech that was supposed to be off the record.

But although the paper, and Keller, have tried to dampen the rumors, they persist, especially as we head towards Apple’s surprise announcement on Wednesday — which everyone assumes will be the introduction of some giant iPod-like tablet device.
