New York Times and Post Endorse Christine Quinn, Joe Lhota for Mayor
The New York Times and The New York Post have thrown their collective weight into the mayoral race. Both papers endorsed Christine Quinn for the Democrats and Joe Lhota for the Republicans. The announcements came days after The New York Daily News backed Quinn.
In an editorial, the Times explained that Quinn’s strong performance during last Wednesday’s debates sealed the deal:
We had already made up our own minds in favor of Ms. Quinn, but the Wednesday debate would have clinched it anyway.
