New York Observer Hires Christian Lorentzen as Senior Editor

The New York Observer has hired Christian Lorentzen as a senior editor, FishbowlNY has learned. Kyle Pope, the Observer‘s editor, just sent out the announcement. Lorentzen starts Monday.

Lorentzen previously worked at Harper’s, where he edited literary submissions. He has also written such pieces of cultural criticism as “Why the Hipster Must Die” for Time Out New York and “Contra Greenberg; Or, Work Mate Spawn” for n+1. Here’s his infrequently updated Tumblr.
