Boston — or, rather, the bombings and ensuring manhunt that occurred there a week ago — captured the cover of the New Yorker, and now it’s claimed the Big Apple’s other namesake news weekly.

Ever eager to encapsulate the zeitgeist in its glossy pages, New York‘s headline declares that the 21st Century has converged on Boston.

From questionably reliable information dissemination to the self-radicalization of young men to the voluntary foregoing of freedoms for safety, it seems the grander stories of the Boston bombings make for good magazine journalism.
