New Term To Watch: 'Malemployed'
Now in addition to being unemployed, underemployed and funemployed, you can be malemployed, the Chicago Tribune reports. That’s when an overly qualified college grad takes a low-wage low-skill job.
According to a labor analyst, almost 2 million college grads under 30 were malemployed between September and January.
That includes Bill White, who has a master’s in PR and advertising but is back to school for mechanical engineering.
Kirk Devezin II, another communications grad, has taken to leaving his degree off his job applications as they’re all to “barista and cook jobs, and one at a carwash.”
