New Name, Same Paper!

Newspapers are looking for any opportunity possible to cut cost in this competitive market. Yesterday Philadelphia Media Holdings announced the Daily News will now be printed as an edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer. No layoffs have been announced as of right now. Each paper intends to retain its own staff.

CEO Brian Tierney said the change will save money on wire services and will help with ad sales. “Instead of telling advertisers we have 330,000 circulation (at the Inquirer) plus the Daily News, it will help to say we have 440,000 daily circulation,” Tierney told
