NBCUniversal Looking for Non-Profit Journalistic Partners

Since 2006, the local NBC affiliate in San Diego KNSD has had a content-sharing partnership with the non-profit investigative outfit Voice of San Diego. Earlier this week (thanks to an agreement they worked out with the FCC during the merger proceedings with Comcast), NBCU announced plans to expand that partnership program to locally-based journalistic non-profits in other cities. And LA is on its radar.

There’s an open application process currently underway. It looks like, for now, only four non-profits will be chosen, even though NBCU is eying partnerships in New York, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Dallas-Ft.
