Mort Zuckerman Offers Daily News Editorial Staff A Buyout By May 28

Mort Zuckerman, publisher of the Daily News, is said to be planning layoffs among the paper’s editorial staff.

Sources tell Media Ink’s Keith Kelly that that Zuckerman is offering his staff voluntary buyouts with two weeks’ worth of pay per year of work at the paper. That is, he offered the package to everyone on staff except Daily News editor in chief Martin Dunn, who told Media Ink that he “didn’t get one.”

And, apparently, if the paper does not find enough staffers willing to voluntarily step down, it will be forced to enact involuntarily layoffs after May 28th.
