More Firings at the Hollywood Reporter
The Hollywood Reporter is dumping more editorial staff, FBLA has learned. Earlier this week editorial director Howard Burns announced his forced ouster and then Matthew King departed. Parent VNU has been cutting budgets and headcounts, so this can’t be that much of a surprise.
Insiders say this isn’t about sprucing up for a sale, but rather to maximize profits and stay competitive. Look for 4 to 5 names to be annouced later–and most of those will be surprised, we’ve been told.
