Monthly Jobs Report Shows Steady Growth

Find a JobThis just in…the Labor Department reported 209,000 new jobs created last month.

Per The Chicago Tribune, economists were actually expecting an increase of 230,000 jobs but you know what? We think 200,000-plus is a pretty solid number.

As pointed out by CNN, over the past six months, the economy added 1.5 million jobs — the strongest six months since 2006!

As for the unemployment rate, it kicked up slightly from 6.1 percent to 6.2 percent. Keep in mind its peak of 10 percent in October 2009.
