Michael Pietsch Becomes CEO of Hachette Book Group

Michael Pietsch is leaving his post as the publisher of Little, Brown and Company and is becoming the CEO of the Hachette Book Group. He’ll officially replace his predecessor, David Young, on April 1.

Pietsch has an extensive literary background and as pointed out by The New York Times, he’s edited novelists like David Foster Wallace and James Patterson.

He told the newspaper: “It’s a bigger transition than I’ve ever made. The job of C.E.O. is much bigger than the job of a publisher.
