It kinda has to, really, since no one other than Gannett has expressed an interest in buying the Tribune Co., aside from a few equity firms that submitted lower-than-anticipated bids.
The NYT notes that the family, which used to own the LAT, wasn’t all that interested in buying the paper — or any other part of the Tribune Co.
