Mark Leckey Wins Turner Prize

What with the excitement, frantic shopping, and abundance of pie that comes with Thanksgiving and Art Basel Miami, you may have missed the news that the 2008 Turner Prize was awarded to British artist Mark Leckey (pictured at right). As we predicted back in October, Leckey triumphed over the other three nominees—Runa Islam, Goshka Macuga, and Cathy Wilkes—to take home the £25,000 contemporary art prize, which was presented this year by Nick Cave in a ceremony held at Tate Britain.
