The following east-to-west-to-east-coast professional hopscotch is going to be very hard to beat in 2014. Even though there are still eight months of calendar hopscotching left.
As we reported, Hugo Lindgren’s stint as acting editor of The Hollywood Reporter was always designed to end in late April. What was not so expected was for the former New York Times Magazine editor to move on so quickly and spectacularly once his THR three-month stint was completed. From the brief item by Lindgren’s former colleagues Rebecca Ford and Borys Kit:
Mark Boal, the Oscar-winning writer and producer behind Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker, has secured funding from Megan Ellison‘s Annapurna Pictures for his Page One movie and television production banner.
At the same time, Boal has tapped Lindgren to run the shingle, acting as company president. Lindgren will be based in New York.
Lindgren says he is looking forward to connecting journalists with Boal and Ellison. Ditto for any reporter lucky enough to be on Lindgren’s Page One call list.[Photo via: @hugolindgren]
