Man Booker Prize Winner Announced

The winner of the prestigious (and lucrative) Man Booker Prize was announced today. Sadly (for Angeleno pride anyway), former LA bartender and Terri screenwriter Patrick deWitt did not win for his novel The Sisters Brothers. DeWitt was one of six writers on the short list for the award. Instead, British author Julian Barnes wound up winning the award and its $80,000 prize for his novel The Sense of an Ending.

DeWitt spoke to the LA Weekly earlier this month about his book and his time in Los Angeles.
