'Mamma Mia' Making Records On DVD
When we were in college, Abba was always showing up as background music in elevators and malls. Thirty years later, the Swedish band is having a major resurgence on the big screen.
“Mamma Mia,” the film with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Julie Walters, Stellen Skarsgard, Colin Firth and host of other stars from yesteryear, had a decent b.o. for its theatrical run. But now on video and DVD, the film had one of the best and BIGGEST openings — $30 million on the first day — for any musical and most movies at all.
