A new book from Richard Beatty, PhD and Mark Huselid, PhD, both professors of Human Resource Management at Rutgers, points to bad workforce strategies as one of the primary failures of big companies lately. According to Beatty and Huselin’s book “Differentiated Workforce”, many companies spend too much time and money on low performers in nonstrategic roles, while high performers in strategic roles aren’t getting the necessary resources or development opportunities.
