<i>Lucky</i> Publisher Gina Sanders Picked To Lead Fairchild

It didn't take long for Condé Nast to find a replacement for Richard Beckman. The magazine publisher has dipped into its own pool of publishers and picked Lucky publisher Gina Sanders to lead the Fairchild Fashion Group, which publishes Women's Wear Daily. Sanders joined Lucky in 2008 from Teen Vogue, where she was also publisher, during a major restructuring at Condé. She started her career at the publishing house more than 20 years ago, at House & Garden and went on to work at Details and Gourmet before Teen Vogue. Sanders is replacing Beckman, who left the company last week to join newly formed media company e5 Global Media, starting on February 1. Full release after the jump. OF THE FAIRCHILD FASHION GROUP Gina Sanders has been named President and C.E.O. of the Fairchild Fashion Group (FFG), it was announced today by Charles H. Townsend, President and C.E.O. of Conde Nast. In this role Ms. Sanders will have oversight of WWD, WWD.com, Footwear News, Fairchild Summits and Fairchild Books, reporting to Mr. Townsend. This appointment is effective February 1, 2010. "Gina is a strategic business leader with strong fashion, beauty, and retail experience," Mr. Townsend said. "I look to her to leverage the FFG assets and to grow the companyâ€™s vitality in the marketplace." Ms. Sanders has been with Conde Nast for over 20 years and has been a publisher at multiple titles. Most recently she has been Vice President and Publisher of Lucky since 2008. Prior to joining Lucky, she was the founding Publisher of Teen Vogue which was consistently recognized for its success: named to Adweek Magazine's venerable Hot List two years in a row, 2006-2007, Ad Age's A-List 2005, Adweek Magazine's 2005 "10 Under 50" List and Adweek Magazine's 2004 Startup of the Year. In 2005, Sanders was named Conde Nast's Publisher of the Year. Before joining Teen Vogue, Ms. Sanders was Publisher of Gourmet, where she was named Vice President in June 2000. Ms. Sanders came to Gourmet from Details, where she began as Advertising Director in 1993, and subsequently served as Publisher. She began her career at Conde Nast at House & Garden.
