Epic Flooding Engenders Epic Headlines

Another Louisiana catastrophe.

Sometimes, the best way to convey Mother Nature’s devastation is to simply quote from those affected by it.

In Lousiana, today’s front page for Lafayette’s The Daily Advertiser features a quote from Will Mitchell, a father who had to rescue his son. Mitchell shares a number of other astute observations as well.

Meanwhile, on the front page of the Times-Picayune, the dreaded K-word. Spoken by Anniebell McPipe, an apartment dweller in Baton Rouge who told the paper flood waters rose to waist-level just five minutes after first beginning to come through her front door.

Finally, the Shreveport Times went with the cautionary words of Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
